Two legs of 120 volts AC or a total of 240 volts is needed for the dryer to run properly. Occasionally, this situation will allow the dryer to run, but not heat, due to only one fuse or breaker being tripped. Possible Solution WebReplace the faulty igniter with a new one. To fix a broken dryer, remove the access panel and disconnect the gas hose and power cord. Remove the old igniter and replace it with a new one. Place the access panel back on and reconnect the gas hose and plug in the power cord. Test the dryer to ensure it is heating properly.
