WebMay 24, 2012 · I personally did not like the thought of hitting the clutch nut as it could damage the water pump bearing . To remove the fan clutch nut, it is the standard rotation. Counter clockwise on the fan clutch nut to undo as you are facing the car while holding the water pump pulley still. Hope this helps.
