WebOct 25, 2012 · If at all possible avoid re-setting the neck on a guild. Guilds tend to be one of the more difficult necks to re-set. There is no taper to the dovetail. When you apply steam to soften the glue, it swells the wood so that the neck does not slide out easily as with a Martin. Plus, Guild glues the neck on first and then applies finish.
